Campsites – Campfires

Extreme caution must be used with campfires due to the risk of wildfires. Fire rings must be less than 3 feet in diameter or 3 feet in length and width, and at least 18 inches in depth. A water supply or fire extinguisher must be readily available. During extreme dry periods campfires may be banned. A sign will be hung on the entrance gate to inform you of this, but it is the Member’s responsibility to know when a burn ban is in effect. For current burn ban status, please call Teller County Sheriff’s office at 719-687-9652. Fires must be extinguished whenever an adult is not present at the campsite.
